Ms. Bordy studied mechanical engineering at Georgia Tech and now teaches science at Marlborough School. Ms. Bordy gives insight to what studying mechanical engineering was like: challenges, classes, and internship opportunities. She shares valuable advice on balancing a heavy engineering workload with a personal life and the application of engineering degrees in non-engineering fields post-college.

SWENext LA held a workshop with 2 classes at Clinton Elementary in Compton to educate them on various types of engineering: mechanical, electrical, civil, chemical, and biomedical. The students competed to build the tallest and most sturdy tower out of marshmallows, gum drops, and toothpicks. So inspiring to see so many young girls interested in engineering!
